Chicago Young Republicans Weigh In

Message from the President

While it’s not easy being RIGHT in Chicago, the Chicago Young Republicans have consistently demonstrated talent, professionalism and success.

For example:

Grand Opening of the Brady for Governor Chicago Headquarters - Thursday, July 29

Thursday, July 29, stop by the new Brady for Governor office at 1201 N. Clark Street (enter on the Division Street side) from 5-7pm.

Since I'm the germaphobe of the group, I'll post this article.  The whole thing is worth a read, but Chicago specifically isn't mentioned until the end.  It's nasty.

Come on out to the CYR Booth at Summer on Southport!

We've had a brief respite from street fairs, but now it's time to get back out there!

On July 31st and August 1st, be cool out in the hot sun and bring your smiling Republican face, along with your inherent American volunteerism, to Summer on Southport (3700 N. Southport  at Waveland).

New Years Day 2011 - This should be fun!

Is it just me or is there far too little talk currently coming from the Right about the coming "Tax Tsunami"? In an article published yesterday, IBD details the impending massacre on your wallet. Allow me to summarize: fewer deductions for individuals, repeal of the demonstrably effective Bush tax cuts, more expensive medical supplies and services, and tax hikes for business owners. Lovely.

Good read from Mr. Joel Kotkin at The Daily Beast

For those of you who do not know me, I work at a small business, and meet with small business owners every week during the course of my work.  This article rings true even in a progressive area such as Cook County.

Debt saturation

"The basic point is that the recession of 2001 wasn't a typical postwar slump, brought on when an inflation-fighting Fed raises interest rates and easily ended by a snapback in housing and consumer spending when the Fed brings rates back down again. This was a prewar-style recession, a morning after brought on by irrational exuberance. To fight this recession the Fed needs more than a snapback; it needs soaring household spending to offset moribund business investment.

FOX Chicago Sunday: Illinois Republican Chairman Pat Brady

If it is true that clothes make the man, Illinois republicans are hoping these clothes will un-make the man in Springfield.
