The Chicago Young Republicans provide a deep bench of spokespeople capable of interacting with the press and staying on message. Several members have participated in formal media training and our officers have provided the Republican reaction in press interviews when breaking news hits.
The CYR media and communications team has cultivated strong relationships with local media and have the ability to command media attention at key events. The CYRs’ capable spokespeople and diverse membership serve to round out citizen commentary on local, national and international political issues.
In addition to local and foreign broadcast media, CYR activities have been covered by the Chicago Tribune, Red Eye, TimeOut Chicago, Metromix, Chicago Magazine, Huffington Post, NPR, and numerous local student newspapers.
