Jeremy Rose
President


Jeremy previously served at the CYRs' Political Director.  He has worked as staff on numerous statewide campaigns including, Jack Ryan for U.S. Senate, Steve Rauschenberger for Governor and Ron Gidwitz for Governor. Jeremy currently works for BIT Studios, a Chicago-based web development firm. He also holds the positions of Program Manager for the United Republican Fund and Executive Director for the Illinois College Republicans.


Laura Kotelman
Vice President
 
Laura was born and raised in the Chicago area and has lived in the Lakeview neighborhood for 10 years.  She previously served as the CYRs' Communications Director.

Laura has a B.A. in Political Science and Spanish from Lake Forest College where she was the College Republicans chapter president for two terms. After a year with the Illinois State Senate Republican staff, she attended the University of Illinois College of Law where she was elected to the University Senate.  After law school, Laura worked for Illinois Attorney General Jim Ryan in the Policy and Program Development Unit. She left the AG's office to work in state government relations for a major insurance trade association.  Laura currently is a practice development manager for the Global Insurance and Financial Services Group at one of the world's largest law firms.

Laura is also on the executive committee of Central Lakeview Neighbors and on the Board of Chicago Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society.


Arthur Gollwitzer III
Treasurer

Arthur was elected Treasurer of the Chicago Young Republicans in 2008.  He also is a member of the Chicago Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society.  From 2004 through 2006, Arthur served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York where he was the lead prosecutor in criminal trials and argued federal criminal appeals on behalf of the United States of America. 

In 2006, Arthur returned home to Chicago and joined the law firm of Michael, Best & Friedrich LLP as a partner in the firm's the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group. He also is a member of his firm's white collar criminal defense and corporate investigations group. In 2007, Chicago Law Bulletin Publishing Company named Mr. Gollwitzer one of its 40 Under 40 attorneys to watch.

Arthur hails from Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.  He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Economics and has a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School.


Rachel Moguel
Secretary


Rachel graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May of 2007 with a double major in Political Science and Sociology. She is currently in her second year of law school at DePaul University College of Law.  For the past four years she has been working in the field of immigration law and plans to continuing her career in immigration law upon graduation in 2010.


Keely Drukala
Immediate Past President


Keely is a Northern California native. Keely received a duel bachelors' of arts degree in International Politics and Internationally Communications from the American University of Paris. Keely currently works for the Heartland Institute, after a 2-year stint with the Cook County Republican Party. She briefly worked in advertising, marketing with a fortune 500 banking firm, teaching English abroad and telecommunications before finding her niche in local politics. Keely ran for State Representative, for the 5th district of Illinois, in 2006 and although she lost, she was endorsed by the Chicago Tribune over the incumbant. Besides serving on the executive board of the Young Republicans, Keely’s other affiliations include membership in the Chicago Republican Woman’s Network and the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations.


Kyle Stone
Membership Director

A Michigan native, Kyle graduated from the University of Michigan in 2005 with high honors in History, and earned his law degree from Loyola University School of Law in 2008.

Now a lawyer in Chicago, Kyle works for the City of Chicago Law Department, prosecuting in its Municipal Prosecutions Division.  With a passion for anything political, Kyle is thrilled to be the Membership Director for the Chicago Young Republicans, and he looks forward to expanding the organization.

Kyle is an avid sports fan, especially his beloved Michigan and Detroit teams. He also enjoys reading and writing about history and, quite naturally, politics. One day he hopes to run for public office.


Larry LaVanway
Political Director


Larry is a native of Southeastern Michigan and is a graduate of both Albion College and The University of Michigan Law School.  After law school, he spent several years consulting inventors and small business start-ups in Silicon Valley before returning home to the Midwest to continue his career. 

He first became interested in politics during the 2000 presidential campaign and has been an avid student of the political process ever since.  He is an Eagle Scout and is a member of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.On the rare occasion when his political fever breaks, he enjoys backpacking in national parks, rooting for his Michigan Wolverine football team, and volunteering his time to help people recover from alcohol and other addictions.


Corrine Williams
Communications Director

Corrine received a B.A. in Political Science with minors in German and Women's Studies from the University of Miami in Florida. While at Miami, Corrine served as the Vice President and Co-Founding Board Member of the Miami Chapter of the College Republicans and Delegate to the College Republican National Convention.

She has a Masters Degree in Public Policy with a concentration in Health Policy from George Washington University where she received the Wollcott Fellowship Award and National Federation of Republican Women's Pathfinder Scholarship. Corrine worked for Congressman John Shadegg, the House Republican Policy Committee and and then Chairman, Congressman Adam H. Putnam.

In June of 2008 Corrine accepted a position with the American Medical Association as a Senior Policy Analyst and moved to Chicago.


Jacqueline DeFoe
Events Director

Jacqueline grew up in a small town in Wisconsin and moved to Chicago for graduate school. She graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry from Marquette University in 2006 and received the American Institute of Chemists Student Award. Jacqueline is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Chicago, where she received her M.S. in Chemistry in 2007. In 2008, the U. of C. Department of Chemistry awarded her the Joan Shiu Award for Student Service. During the 2008 presidential campaign, she represented the McCain campaign during a science policy forum at Northwestern University.

Currently, Jacqueline is the chair of the activities committee for the U. of C. Graduate Council, a regular volunteer for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, and a tutor for students of General and Organic Chemistry


Eric Di Silvestro
College Outreach Director

Eric was born in Chicago and grew up in the suburbs of Mt. Prospect and Palatine before attending the University of llinois in Champaign. He majored in Political Science and Italian and obtained his commercial pilots license while pole vaulting for the track team. He currently works at his family business at O'Hare Airport running a parking lot.


Angel Garcia
Multimedia Director


Angel has worked on numerous local, state and national campaigns. In addition to his work with the Chicago Young Republicans, Angel also has served as President of The John Marshall Law School Federalist Society and Chairman of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly of Cook County. Angel has also been a political commentator for NBC Telemundo where he advocated the GOP position against a number of elected Democrats.

Angel is a JD/MBA candidate, and currently works as a white collar crime investigator. He is a lifelong Chicago resident.
